Terms of Use
Paxi, by Passenger Labs, LLC · Effective October 20, 2026 · Last updated October 20, 2026
The short version
- Paxi is a fare-comparison app. It asks ride services for prices on your trip and books the one you pick using your own account with that service.
- Use Paxi for your own rides, on your own accounts, with your own payment methods. Don't use it to book rides for sale to other people, to cycle through accounts, or with payment methods or promotions you aren't entitled to.
- The ride itself is between you and the ride service, under their terms. Paxi doesn't take payment, set prices, or dispatch cars.
- Paxi is independent and unofficial. Ride services can change how they work at any time, and a feature that works today may stop. We'll do our best, but we can't promise availability.
1. Who this covers
These terms are an agreement between you and Passenger Labs, LLC ("Passenger Labs", "we", "us"), a California limited liability company, covering the Paxi iOS app and the paxi.fyi website (together, "Paxi"). By installing or using Paxi you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use Paxi.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information Paxi handles and is part of these terms.
2. What Paxi is, and isn't
Paxi compares live fares from ride services such as Uber, Lyft, Waymo, Tesla, Zoox, and Curb, and lets you book the one you choose through the account you have linked with that service. Paxi runs on your phone and talks to each service directly on your behalf; we don't operate a server that holds your rides.
Paxi is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any ride service. Each service's name and logo belong to that service. Some of what Paxi does depends on how those services behave today, and they may change or restrict it at any time without notice to us or to you.
3. Your ride-service accounts
You may link only ride-service accounts that are yours, that you are authorized to use, and that you sign in to yourself. You are responsible for everything done through Paxi with an account you link, and for complying with that service's own terms. If a service suspends or limits your account, that is between you and the service.
Your credentials and session tokens stay on your phone; see the Privacy Policy. Unlinking a service in Settings removes them.
4. Acceptable use
Paxi is for personal use: booking rides that you or someone you are personally arranging transport for will take, on your own account, paid with a payment method you are entitled to use. You agree not to:
- Book rides through Paxi for resale, as a service to others, or otherwise for a fee or commercial advantage.
- Use an account, payment card, stored balance, gift card, credit, or promotion that isn't yours or that you aren't entitled to use, or use a promotion in a way its terms don't allow.
- Cycle through multiple ride-service accounts, create or buy accounts, or share a device among accounts to evade a ride service's limits, verification, or risk controls.
- Misrepresent your location, device, or identity to a ride service, including through proxies or VPNs used to disguise where a booking is made from.
- Automate, script, or run Paxi at a scale or in a pattern no individual rider would, or modify, redistribute, or reverse engineer Paxi except as the law allows.
- Use Paxi for anything unlawful, or to harm ride services, drivers, or other riders.
We may stop, limit, or change Paxi for anyone we reasonably believe is doing any of these things, and we may share information about abuse with the affected ride service or with law enforcement where the law allows or requires it.
5. Fares, payment, and the ride
Prices shown in Paxi come from the ride services at that moment. The service sets the fare, charges your payment method on file with it, and may change the price before you confirm; Paxi asks you to confirm when it can see that a price has risen. Receipts, refunds, charges, promotions, driver and vehicle matters, lost items, and safety are handled by the ride service under its terms. Paxi never takes payment from you.
6. Availability and changes
We provide Paxi as it is, and we may update, change, or discontinue any part of it at any time. A service that Paxi supports today may become unavailable through Paxi tomorrow because that service changed; we'll try to keep the "Open in app" fallback working so you can finish the booking there.
During beta periods, Paxi may include diagnostic features described in the Privacy Policy. They are optional and off by default.
7. Disclaimers
Paxi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of prices or wait times, and uninterrupted operation. Transportation is provided by the ride services and their drivers, not by Passenger Labs.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Passenger Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Paxi, and our total liability for any claim relating to Paxi will not exceed US$50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of this may not apply to you.
9. Indemnity
If you use Paxi in breach of Section 3 or 4 and a ride service, payment provider, or third party brings a claim against Passenger Labs because of it, you agree to cover our resulting losses and reasonable legal costs.
10. Ending things
You can stop using Paxi at any time by deleting the app, which removes your linked credentials and local data. We may suspend or end your use of Paxi if you breach these terms. Sections 7 through 11 survive.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the dates at the top and, for material changes, note it in the app or on paxi.fyi. Continuing to use Paxi after a change means you accept the new terms.
